Champions of the Desert follows Danny, a Jewish Australian, and Hazem, a Muslim Bedouin, who build a karate dojo in Hazem's village, where Jewish and Bedouin children train side by side. Hazem's wife Hanan leads a camp where Jewish and Muslim girls, her own daughters among them, spend time together. Danny and Hazem go on to represent Israel side by side at karate world championships. Through personal hardship and a rising generation's anger, they keep believing in a shared future. A film about friendship, hope and the choice to live together.
